2024 Indian election: Today marks the final phase of the mammoth Lok Sabha vote as India heads to the polls to determine the outcome for 57 seats, with 904 candidates in contention. This phase concludes a staggered election process that commenced in April.
Previously, the electorate participated in six phases held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, and May 25. Vote counting is scheduled for June 4.
At the heart of this electoral battle is the clash between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), which is spearheaded by the primary opposition party, the Indian National Congress.
