G7 Summit of World leaders
Zelenskyy looks for diplomatic and military assistance
All eyes are on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his discussions with world leaders as the Group of Seven leaders’ summit enters its last day in Hiroshima, Japan.
Zelenskyy, who made a spectacular arrival to the summit last night, met separately this morning with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Fumio Kishida, the prime minister of Japan, encouraged the world to never deploy nuclear weapons as he closed up the G7 meeting in the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
Kishida noted that current generations continue to discuss the “unspeakable devastation” that nuclear weapons have caused while standing in front of the Atomic Bomb Dome, which serves as a lasting reminder of their impacts.
