SHOCKING: China’s Sinister ‘Floating Barrier’ Blocks Filipino Fishermen – You Won’t Believe What Happens Next!
The Philippines has lodged a strong protest against China’s coast guard for allegedly installing a “floating barrier” in a contentious region of the South China Sea. The Philippine authorities claim that this barrier obstructs Filipino access to the area for fishing purposes.
Commodore Jay Tarriela, a spokesperson for Manila’s coast guard, expressed condemnation of China’s actions on the X social media platform, formerly known as Twitter. Tarriela emphasized that this barrier effectively hinders Filipino fishing vessels from entering the Scarborough Shoal, depriving them of their livelihoods and fishing activities.
The discovery of the 300-meter-long floating barrier was made by personnel from the Philippine coast guard and fisheries bureau during a routine patrol near the shoal, also known as Bajo de Masinloc. Filipino fishermen have reported that China tends to deploy such barriers when they observe a significant presence of Filipino fishermen in the area.
This latest development adds to the ongoing tensions in the South China Sea, with the Philippines asserting its rights within its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and opposing what it views as China’s encroachment on its territory.
